And "Now what?"


"Now what?" is a section of each lesson which will tell you how to finish up the lesson, giving it the sense of fulfillment which any lesson deserves. Sometimes, it will just be another (final) step of the activity. Other times it will be a type of "follow-up" to the activity just performed.

Either way, it´s important to remember two things:

  • When doing follow-up, you want students to use "reporting language" (We did this. We decided this. We thought this.) whether written or spoken
  • Generally, this is a writing exercise or a verbal or written report to the class. You can easily substitute one for the other or even leave something out. Be careful though! This may be the objective of the entire task! Whether deleting or modifying this part of the task, there still must be some sense of conclusion to the task
